Mindfulness Based Intervention to Overcome Anxiety in Adolescents

Adolescents are prone to show symptoms of anxiety when dealing with school-related matters, such as exams, assignments, choosing university major, and friendships. The transition from online offline learning COVID-19 pandemic situation eased off appeared trigger in adolescents. This research used repeated-measure design that aimed examine the effectiveness a mindfulness-based intervention (MBI) decreasing six high school students aged 16-18 years (M = 16,83 years) who reported low-to-moderate levels anxiety, well improve their mindfulness skills explore qualitative changes daily lives after MBI. Quantitatively, MBI, there was decrease at 2-weeks 1-month follow-ups; however, were no skills. Results showed that, participants more awareness toward bodily sensations environment, better identification source, level, physical knowledge on how deal anxiety. Through this study, it found MBI could reduce adolescents' two weeks four given.
